Amie Gray Murder Court Case

CCTV Captures Disturbing Audio of Fatal Bournemouth Beach Assault

In a recent court session, jurors were presented with audio from CCTV footage capturing the harrowing attack on Bournemouth’s Durley Chine Beach that resulted in the death of 34-year-old physical trainer, Amie Gray, and left her friend, Leanne Miles, seriously injured.

The accused, 20-year-old criminology student, Nasen Saadi from Croydon, south London, is facing charges at Winchester Crown Court for the murder of Ms. Gray and the attempted murder of Ms. Miles during the incident on May 24.

Home Office pathologist Dr. Basil Purdue testified that Ms. Gray succumbed to ten stab wounds, while Ms. Miles sustained twenty knife injuries.

The CCTV footage, though visually focused on the seating area of the Chineside café, contained audio of prolonged screams and a male voice during the assault.

In a police interview dated May 31, Saadi denied involvement, stating, “I am not responsible and I have no reason to attack someone for no reason.” He suggested a case of mistaken identity, adding, “I think just because someone is wearing the same clothes is circumstantial.”

When questioned about his whereabouts during the attack, Saadi responded with “no comment” and refuted being the individual seen in the CCTV footage, noting the beach’s popularity and the presence of many people.

Saadi has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, and an additional count of wounding Ms. Miles with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He has, however, admitted to failing to provide his phone’s PIN to the police.

Defense counsel Charles Sherrard KC informed the court that Saadi would not testify, and no further evidence would be presented on his behalf.

Presiding Judge, Mrs. Justice Cutts, reminded jurors to set aside emotions, stating, “Emotion of any kind doesn’t assist when deciding whether the evidence against the defendant is sufficiently proved.”

The trial is ongoing.
