The constituency office of Labour MP Neil Duncan-Jordan in Ashley Cross has been left badly damaged after multiple windows were smashed in what appears to have been a deliberate overnight attack.
The office frontage on Commercial Road suffered extensive damage, with several large panes shattered by repeated impacts. Images from the scene show spiderweb cracks stretching across almost every front-facing window.
While Dorset Police have not yet confirmed a motive or identified suspects, the incident comes at a time of increasing public frustration and political tension surrounding the Labour government and local representatives.
Residents passing the office on Thursday morning described the damage as “shocking”, although some also pointed to growing anger among sections of the public over issues including immigration, the cost of living, taxation and national policy decisions.
Several local people speaking nearby said they believed politicians across the country were becoming increasingly disconnected from ordinary voters. However, others stressed that criminal damage and intimidation are never acceptable forms of protest.
The attack is likely to reignite debate around political division in Britain and the increasingly hostile atmosphere surrounding public office holders from all parties.
Neil Duncan-Jordan was elected MP for Poole in 2024 and recently opened the Ashley Cross office to provide support services for constituents.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
